Lifetime Animal Care Center

Veterinary Services

We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Exam: An annual physical examination is one of the most important ways you can care for your pet. Thorough check-ups and preventative care can help identify and alleviate health problems before they become more serious, and perhaps more costly to treat.

Laboratory:
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. With this technologically advanced equipment on-site, a pre surgical or emergency blood test can be reported in less than ten minutes.  This efficiency saves lives.

We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.  Results are reported back to our veterinarians, usually within 24 hours.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures including ovariohysterectomies (spay), neuters, tumor removal procedures, exploratory surgeries, and more.  Along with your pet's surgeon, a surgical nurse is always present for constant patient monitoring.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older and high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.  Please feel free to ask us about our excellent anesthesia safety record.

Internal medicine consultations: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.  Here in San Diego, we have access to some of the best veterinary specialists in the field.  If it is in the best interest of your pet, we will refer you to a specialist, or schedule a consultation here at our hospital, depending on the situation.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. In addition, we routinely consult with specialists.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heart-worm prevention products to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Home Delivery: We offer convenient home delivery of prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and prescription diets through Vet Centric.  Click on the Vet Centric icon on our
home page for more information.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.  In addition, we can refer you and your pet to a behaviorist specializing in your pet's particular problem.
